A toy centipede I got circa 2018. It has become a sort of mascot for me. It is my fellow creature!
This page is dedicated to pictures of it and its siblings, its renditions in art, and its other physical forms.
The Centipede comes from the 2009 playset "Fun With Bugs!: Bug Friends" from Ja-Ru, inc. Here you can see it with its siblings-- a Beetle, Ladybug, Ant, Grass Hopper, and fellow Centipede-- enjoying my citronella.
I bought a new pack of them in 2023 so that I could have one whole set, even if it means I have two Centipedes now. The original wears a little green scarf to set it apart.
Each bug comes in two different colours! But I will have to find a complete pack of the other colours someday.
This is a shirt I designed that you can buy from my RedBubble page. As of writing this page (February 2024), nobody has bought a shirt off my RedBubble except for me.
RedBubble's shirts can be kind of hit or miss. Sometimes the graphic wears off terribly and other times they're quite durable. Thankfully, this shirt has held the design nicely!
Following my discovery of the fantastic art of pony bead animals, and upon making this centipede pattern, it was only a matter of time before I made this one. Instead of making it with plastic lacing like I usually do, I made it with soft rat-tail cord. The result is a floppy animal that's fun to fiddle with. I have to tighten the ending knot often, though.
I highly recommend checking out Margo's Beadie Critters page (linked above) if you're interested in making pony-bead animals of your own!
Buttons!! Where would we be without them... A coworker suggested I make a pronoun button, and now this button became one of my favourites to wear. (People still don't use the right pronouns for me though.) The other two are made with scratch-art. The sparkly one was my first, and the rainbow one my second I made a few months later. I like to think I improved ::-)
I make a lot of buttons for fun, you can buy some online at my Ko-Fi page (linked on my home page).
You've already seen art of the Centipede throughout this page, but here's some other drawings.
The genesis of the Centipede having a clown nose pattern on the head, from 2021.
This was for advertising another thing on my Ko-Fi page.
If you like this page of my site I think you will also like my worm shrine which is dedicated to another beloved invertebrate. If you like my Centipede art (or any bug-related art for that matter), consider browsing my RedBubble shop for fun bug-themed products.
um how did that thing get in here...
